6 months spent in New York in the spring of 2003 allowed me to immerse myself in an atmosphere that was the opposite of the one that inspired my previous work, which witnessed a long stay in Languedoc. The works sketched in Manhattan and detailed for the Yverdon-les-Bains exhibition are marked by the verticality, angles, materials and rough surfaces of a built environment. The tones are more muted while the traces and signs of the metropolis, a place of communication and multiculturalism, reappear.
